Ewan has become quite the voracious eater. Some days, nary a morsel is left in his seat when I peel him out of it post dinner. Some days, it’s full of the tasty treats that did not suit his palate. This day, we found stuff in spots we didn’t know could catch stuff.

Yes, that’s right kids. Corn in the bellybutton. And here I thought that “cornhole” was just a pesky backyard BBQ game. Pffft. Keep in mind, he was fully clothed while eating. Not quite sure how the corn got there and why it decided to set up camp, but there you go.

Man oh man, is this little muffin cute or what?

Another discovery of the last week or so has been that tumbling Ewans hit rather hard after a short trip down the stairs onto the new hardwood floor. Solution: baby gate. Ewan is heartbroken that access is now denied for trips-on-a-whim, and Hank has threatened to put signs on the new gate like, “Guard Dog on Duty” or “No Trespassing”. Isn’t he clever.

On another note, I jumped up from feeding-the-baby duty for a moment yesterday and turned back around to Holden, my big helper, feeding his little bro:

Ewan is a little unsure…

Holden gives him the  “sales pitch” that this is a great idea…

And Ewan gives it a try…

img_6658

Huh. Look at that. The open mouth thing isn’t just what an adult does. We’re born with it…

img_6660

Ewan does NOT look amused. I wonder if any yogurt made it to the inside…

“I would rather do this myself…”

“So…I’ll take that spoon now, thanks.” (Holden actually yelled, “OH NO!” at this point.)

So Holden grabbed another spoon from the drawer. I intervened to save them both shortly thereafter. And to save the kitchen.

And while I have no pictures of the new dust bunnies who roam our house freely, I have been researching their migratory patterns. They seem to herd toward any “underneath” areas. However, the cats are excellent herding animals and manage to keep them in tight bunches, especially when their handler, the dust mop, is called to duty. The problem is, the cats’ attention is immediately diverted from herding duties to riding duties and they sit on or in front of the dust mop as it gets pushed around the floor.

This happens at least twice a day.

I have to get this on video.
