Friday Night Lights.
Remember Fun Friday? It continued to spill on over into Fun Friday Night. We haven’t rocked a day out like that in quite a while, and let me tell you, we were pooped out by the end of it.
Our boy had his traditional Friday Night Lights game of the season. As we piled five people into a car topped off with fold up chairs, cameras, video recorders, and extra hats and jackets, there were load of giggles from The Goldfish as he said stuff like, “This is like a high school game!” and, “I’m sooo excited!!”
That was followed up by a little bit of quiet and saucer eyes as we pulled into the fields and he felt a little of the enormity that goes along with a game under the lights.
About six teams met as the sun began to dip and hide behind the Rockies and the field lights warmed up. They couldn’t keep still with all of that anticipation.
As they gathered up and had a little pep talk from coach…
The little man got some good lovin’ from Thtephanie.
Our boy started off the game with a touchdown.
And followed it up with a second one, during which he ran straight for me and gave me a cute jock smile.
It looks a little frightening due to the mouth guard.
His buddy Chase, who is named aptly, as he’s the fastest guy on the team.
And some pass plays.
Betcha didn’t know that I’m friends with Michelle Pfeiffer.
Or…her doppleganger. Too bad she’s not a knock-out beauty or anything. Poor thing.
Yes, he really is that pale. We use him at night as a flashlight.
He brought a couple of footballs to the game, just in case his nemesis of the evening snagged one, he’d be left with a spare.
I was told by one the kids that we won 102-8. So I told The ‘Fish.
One more Fun Friday Night post to come. There were some festivities at a festival post-game. Here’s a peek.
