Qualities of the heart. {yoga}
Day 2 of the Prenatal/Postpartum Yoga Intensive.
The mind becomes clear and serene when
the qualities of the heart are cultivated…
Every woman needs to be here. Every woman has been here, even if you’ve never carried a baby in your heart, body, or arms.
This is the place of our lost village. Where women once gathered in quilting bees and church socials, but now have moved across countries or states or oceans to live life in a different place, a different space, to start a new village.
We gather around expanding souls, burgeoning bodies, and glorious community.
We feel, touch, push, draw in; trying to tap into the space that expands us yet brings us closer together.
We become more informed by our bodies, letting them speak through us, to us.
These socks rocked my world. And by the way, I learned that listening deeply to the power you have within you just might come out in the form of a rap. From your butt.

Oh Ganesh. Dude. I’ve got some serious obstacles I might need help with. Anyone to survive a beheading from his “father” has to have some insight there, yes?
Brene Brown says,
Believe that what makes you vulnerable, makes you beautiful…
Lean into joy.
I’m leaning, my friend. Oh boy, am I leaning.

Mary,
Gorgeous photos! What a beautiful essay of the weekend.
I love my socks, too. I got them at Jacqui Michelle on N Broadway, by Vic’s and Moe’s. They make me happy.
I wasn’t sure they matched the dress, but I wanted people to be sure to know that imperfection is the right course.
Great work!
Mary
oh thank you!
seems i must plan a sock-buying excursion very soon…
