T-two. And counting.
With only two days of summer vacation left before…*gasp*…FIRST GRADE, we’re trying to squeeze in every last thing on our list.
Sleepover? Check. Hugely successful.
Waffles and strawberries and apples to celebrate to Great Sleepover Success of 2011? Checkity check.
Still rubbing sleep out of our eyes? Checkity check check.
The mommas made it through, too. It’s a huge rite of passage, this sleepover thing. One part so excited for your big kid, one part kind of weirded out and confused by an empty bed in your house all night. Oh, and one part so hypersensitive, listening all night for the “just in case” happening of someone a little unsure and a little bit scared of not being in his own house.
But hey. Throw back to college and drop a little Visine in the ol’ eyes, drink an extra cup o’ Joe, and spend the day at the pool to get rid of any residual sleepies or tiredness. But this time I was way more successful as I did NOT walk away from the Visine-Joe-Pool therapy with a sunburn. Or a hangover. ‘Cause it was coffee.
Yay!
Guess who returned?
Yep. Frogman. He ushered us on a last minute, late morning, quick trip to the pool before naptime. Our regular pool spot doesn’t open until 1 p.m. on the weekdays, which means we usually have to wait until after Frogman there wakes up from his nap. Today, we were rescued from the heat by our one-neighborhood-over friends and man, did they whoop and holler it up. They knew that this was the last big hurrah before school starts later this week.
In and out of that pool they clambered. I was pooped out just watching them. Wait. No I wasn’t. I was clambering for a better spot to watch their hilariousness.
Yeehaw indeed.
Well. Hello handsome.
And hello to his siblings taking care of business.
And hello, newly brave boy jumping in the water like a madman. Rock it, baby!
His fierceness was in full force today. Awesome.
And oh yes. Hello hot mommas. Love you girls.
Water ninjas.
Catching the last show.
And the encore.
Live it up, people! T minus two and counting!!
