The weird sound.
Weird sounds are not unusual around here. Usually, though, they are somewhat identifiable. Today’s was a new one. I don’t even know how to begin to try to type it. Pbbpbpthfttt. Yeah, maybe that’s close. But with a certain saliva quality to it.
Anyhow, I went in search of its origin and found this.
Holden’s trying like crazy to learn the whole bubble blowing thing. This continued for about 30 minutes until…he did it. Look closely. There’s a tiny little bubble barely hanging on.
And before we knew it, it was time to go to the big culminating event of the entire last year of preschool for Holden: The Art Show.
There was a photo gallery of “Capturing the Moment,” as well as Henry Moore-inspired sculpture.
And when we couldn’t find Ewan, he suddenly popped out from behind the large paintings. Holden’s was captioned with something like “…and then the bad robot swooped down and scooped up all of the other robots…” It was very Montessori-like. I think. Ok, maybe not. Oh I don’t know.
Van Gogh’s Sunflowers made a lovely corner even brighter and cheerier.
Then, after running around like a mad man with his friend Andrew (who, by the way, wore a snazzy suit to The Art Show), I managed to wrangle those two boys for one of the goofiest photo opps ever. Man, they’re weird.
And then Ewan started waving goodbye to everyone, and our window snapped shut. We left immediately.
But not before grabbing Holden’s new Jackson Pollock shirt.
It’s an amazing school. And it had better be. Because Holden is…amazing.
